Anne Lindfjeld Is Just One Of The Guys

Posted by Justin Newman On December - 1 - 2009
anneWhen asked to describe Anne Lindfjeld to someone neither the metal, punk or hardcore scenes it becomes hard. I think the best description comes from Anne on herself: “An international model/artist/actress (kinda) and tv host. Her skin is white and her feet are small. She swears like a pirate and stitches like a haus frau. She can’t remember yesterday and lives for tomorrow.” The 5″ 3  Lindfeld has made a name for herself on her own terms doing every form of modeling you can think of from fetish to pin up as well as staring in music videos, hosting her own show on MTV Denmark and most recently studying to be a prison guard. We finally caught up with our favorite redhead with the amazing sense of humor to find out a bit more about what’s she’s up to currently.

How long have you been involved with the hardcore/metal/punk scene?

Well that depends what you mean by being involved. I’ve been going to shows, pounding whiskey shots, and listening to metal since for as long as I can remember… well not the alcohol part, but I started listening to hardrock/metal when I was about 8-9 years old. I started working with music when I started hosting and producing  Headbangers Ball for Danish MTV in early 2007, and I’ve pretty much been doing that ever since. Well till now that is. Apparently metal isn’t a priority so my show was put to sleep, and now Im just blogging on MTV.DK about this and that (of course music as well) and I just recently picked up a possible writing gig for Garage Magazine, mainly writing about music.

You were a Suicide girl for awhile, then you progressed on to other things. What’s changed for you since then?49f2132a2683d

Well first I’m not a Suicide Girl anymore, and haven’t been for years. I’ve made a name for myself, done multiple TV shows, hosted my own show, worked with some amazing people and magazines. I’ve grown as a model and as a person, made some mistakes, and learned a lot about both the music and modeling industry. I’ve learned my worth and that it’s usually the hard way and always the high road. It’s usually worth, but it takes hard work. I’ve learned that anyone will try to take a piece of you if you let them and I’ve definitely come to learn who my real friends are.

Do you feel like there are more women in the scene now than when you first got into it?

Well obviously there are a lot more women visible now, I don’t know if there’s necessarily more or if they have just come out of hiding. When I first started going to shows, I was usually the only chick there, and metal bands with female band members were not often seen… that’s changed. It’s not that I care a  great deal about this, Ive always been one of the guys, and I don’t need women in my company. What IS cool is that most of these chicks are ’one of the guys’ so you actually get to have guy friends.

Do you feel as if you don’t get taken as seriously in the music
industry because you’re a woman? Or has it been something that’s been
helpful instead of harmful?

That always depends. Usually when I do interviews or go to shows, and if I know some of the people playing, people will assume I’m a groupie. And often times means the other bands or band members. I guess it’s hard to believe that a hot chick could possibly be into metal/punk/hardcore, and actually have guy friends, or heaven forbid even know anything about music (I’m starting to have my doubts about the guy friends thing too) I’ve had to explain myself a lot doing HBB, and I’m sure had I been a dude, I wouldn’t have had too. But haters and doubters (not sure if that’s a word, I just made it up!) they work as fuel to my fire.

Do you feel as if you’ve got a responsibility as a role model for the
girls in the scene currently?

Not really. I’m flattered when people are fans, and look up to me. I don’t feel like I have any responsibility towards this scene in particular. In general, yes, I feel like a do have some responsibility, but not just to the girls out there. I have just as many guy fans, and I feel as a Danish celeb yes there are some things I’d never do and that I am very open about in the media ‘cuz know I might effect some people in a positive way.

What drew you to the genre?

My ears! I don’t know, it just always seemed to fit who I am. I’ve always been kind of antisocial, and having trouble finding my place in the world. I still do, and I guess the honesty and aggression that comes with this type of music just always suited me. It’s a great outlet for anger as well and if I feel pissed off, going to a metal show or putting on something aggressive is the best therapy.

Any bands you’re currently really excited about?

Well it always happens that I rotate a few albums for a month or two and then get exited about something else… right now it’s been Slayer, Rancid, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, and Gallows.

What do you have going on at the moment?

I have been really trying to dust off my positivity hat and wear it as often as possible, but life seems to be punching me in the face daily these days, so often times I end up taking it off throwing it in a dark corner and taking a dump on it. Very very recently I decided I might take the three year eductaion to become a Correctional Officer, or prison guard if you will. Sounds like a pretty rad job. So I guess Im kinda wearing my thinking hat a bit. I have a lot of stuff going on at the moment, just signed with a new manager and am working on a bunch of new projects.

There is no standard day for you huh?

Ahh well my days are far from the same. Some days I might be going to meetings with my managers to talk over projects and castings, going on photoshoots etc. And some days I just hang out in my appartment all day cleaning and working on my creative mojo.

Have you ever had any of those “oh shit” moments as a journalist?

Times like when I got to hang out with Mike Ness, or Marilyn Manson were pretty cool. I’m Mr Ness’s new wife, he just doesn’t know yet. And obviously getting to know some super cool people, and making great friends. The new friends part is by far the coolest part.

I know you love animals. Do you have any?

I don’t have. My roomie has a cat, that pretty much became mine since I moved in. He is a lazy sweetheart. I’d love to get a dog someday, though when I find out what Im gonna be when i grow up and where I’m gonna live.

Is being as busy as you are making having a social life and dating difficult?

I don’t know what these things are, that you’re speaking of!

Tell us something that very few people know about you.

I get super high [hyper] when I drink good coffee, I always sleep naked, I really hate being in groups with too many people at a time. When take as me being a snob or arrogant, is just me being uncomfortable or antisocial. I kinda love cleaning and cooking.

What do you do in your spare time?

I get bitchslapped by the cat.
