Snow Patrol to release a compilation album, Up To Now. The album comes out Nov. 10 and will feature the band’s singles, a few covers, rare tracks and even some previously unreleased songs.

-The White Rabbits announced a fall tour through October and November: http://whiterabbitsmusic.com/tour/

-Converse and Journey’s announce the second annual Get Out of the Garage music contest. The two up-and-coming bands that win the contest will be flown to Austin, TX to perform with last year’s winner, Flying Machines, who has since been signed to EMI.

-Tom Waits announces new double CD live album, Glitter and Doom, due out Nov. 24.

-Dickie Peterson of Blue Cheer passed away the morning of Monday, Oct. 12.

-Oasis confirmed that the band is officially broken up after a sever falling out between Noel and Liam Gallagher… Don’t look back in anger guys!

-Radiohead announced they are working on album to be released in 2010.

-Death Cab for Cutie released a video for “Meet Me On the Equinox,” to be featured in the new twilight movie.

    Say Anything’s new album actually got pushed back to November 3rd for some reason. Sucks, cuz I loooove the new songs on their myspace! I personally loved IDOTG, but a lotta people didn’t seem too into it, or at least not as into as IARB/WARB, and even some of their prior discography. I personally thought IDOTG was a masterpiece, but it’s cool that they seem to be going back to the sound found on their earlier releases, but in a progressive way.
