In the mood for sad sappy pity-party indie rock? Feel like listening to some pop-rock star talk about how troubled her life is? Want to rock out to something melodramatic and depressing? Than you better go pick up the latest album from Madonna or something from Avril, because you’re not going to find it from Becca. She combines upbeat, kick-your-ass music with poignant lyrics to create an album that truly leaves you energized and ready to take on life’s little mishaps. Her new EP will soon be released in America and will be rocking your ear drums this September.
Undoubtedly, Beccca looks like a rockstar and has the stage presence of Joan Jett and Suzy Quattro all rolled into one 20 year old young woman with a bit of a chip on her shoulder and a edge that we’ve not seen since those two artists hit rock in the late 70s. Her songs present the kind of depth that one would never expect from a girl who has yet to experience all the seasons of life. I love hearing music that I believe to be true to the artist’s heart. Becca puts her audience right in the context of her story and never lets up.
I’m Alive is definitely a song that will be on my gym playlist. It echoes fellow musician and now girl-rock icon Hayley William’s Misery Business, but in the best possible way. “Only I can change the end/of the movie in my head/there is no time for misery/I won’t feel sorry for me.” This girl is the next sensation, and you absolutely must check her out when her digital only EP drops on the 29th. Keep an eye out for her full length in 2010 as well, I know I sure will be!

I just recently got to talk to Becca for an interview that will be up soon. When I tell you she’s every bit as awesome as her music I’m not lying. I’m completely impressed and can’t wait till 2010 when we can do another album review for her.
