Twitter alive with a “weighty” issue

In recent days, Twitter has been alive with a “weighty” issue. The days are gone when the economy and war were  hot topics among the new online forums.  Instead, we are going to have a middle school debate about Meghan McCain’s weight.

Laura Ingraham’s mocking statement’s and valley girl impersonation make her comments about Meghan McCain’s curves and online dating a humorous side note, but really… do McCain and for that matter Ingraham not have better things to debate?

McCain in response says that:

“I know what I’m doing and I know that I’m creating, she probably will respond, she already has, but I’m sure she’ll respond harder, but this dialogue should take place. It should. I think that you know, often times and I think it’s relevant because I am a Republican. I still consider myself a Republican and that’s why it’s relevant because I’m someone within the party.”

Besides Ms.McCain’s obvious lack of grammar and valley girl speech, her weight issues do not seem relevant in any way to the Republican party or politics, at all. There should be no dialogue about the issue, we shouldn’t even be writing this article.

Between Meghan’s online dating diaries and Bristol’s baby daddy wedding drama the Republican party is no longer a political party, but looks like an episode of Jerry Springer. If this is the way the Republican party is going then Ann Coulter will soon be dancing on a pole to raise campaign money because everyone is going to think that the GOP has turned into MTV.

Here at YPA Press we like to indulge our readers, and if you would like to follow this ongoing childish “dailogue” you can follow Meghan McCain on her Twitter page at https://twitter.com/McCainBlogette

  1. I’d like it to be started that Ms. McCain graduated from Columbia University in 2007, and has followed her father on the campaign trail throughout the 2008 election. Ms. McCain is an extremely bright and intelligent young woman whose become a great voice for her party.
On a personal note: Fuck you Laura! I think a.) that this woman sounds like a valedictorian not a valley girl. b.) that she’s drop dead gorgeous in no matter what she wears. c.) you look like a less attractive version of Ann Coulter and I think you should stifle your insipid nonesense post haste because you’re a bitch on heels.

  2. You should probably listen to Laura’s entire explanation before criticizing her. Her point was that Meghan does not speak for the republican and is barely a republican. Meghan received any at all, not because she provided valuable insight and strategy to the republican party, but because she attacked conservatives in the party. That is a story the media will follow.

  3. Lisa she’s a registered republican. I think that the GOP should be happy to have her being that they don’t really have anyone else that’s young enough to draw the elusive 18-25 demographic.

  4. Justin I don’t think there is a dispute that she is a registered republican. The point is, as a registered republican she could provide constructive solutions to her party. But that is not what she choose to do. Instead she went to the enemy to get out her criticism of her own. Certainly she could not think that her criticism from a seat with Maddow or on the View would be received as anything but her seeking to promote herself and garner attention.

  5. I don’t know about that. I can’t claim to be inside Meghan’s mind. Though I will tell you my belief is someone should have gone after Ann Coulter a long time ago. Especially from the right.
If it had to be Meghan McCain so be it, but I would have rather it be her father or another person predominate in the party. Instead it had to be a young college girl who stood up to Coulter. And what did she get for it? criticism from her peers and everyone else. Good show GOP.

    Lisa,
I was not saying Laura Ingraham was wrong in her attacks on Meghan. It’s simply the way it was done. I do apologize as I have only found exerpts of the statements Laura made. Perhaps you can send me a link to the complete transcripts.
As for the rest of the replies, I believe in the old adage… bad press is still good press. It doesn’t matter if she does not have real affiliations to the republican party or that she speaks of democrats as “openly voting” for Obama like they are outing themselves. She is the daughter of a former Republican candidate and therefore is associated with that party, and is drumming up a blog frenzy in order to get people’s attention back on them.. Or perhaps she just feels lonely and needs some attention.
Someone give this woman some lovin’

  7. I’m not defending Laura in particular. But there is no doubt Meghan’s intentions were not to be a productive and helpful member of the republican party. As you stated Jesse this was about PR. It was a business decision and as such I think she was played as a pawn by those wishing to make political fodder of her.

This website sucks ass and so do all of these lame articles. “the editor” justin newman, has no idea how to EDIT or even use correct grammar. Basically, your a bunch of tools, writing on a site that NOONE looks at except for YOU, the writers, NOT journalists. Im sorry that UF had graduates like this.

  9. Bella Von G says:

How charming….. John Stewart is it? Don’t know about J.N’s grammar, but oh, I can tell ur such a bad boy with your prolific and well placed comments that are invaluable to the whole issue: “THE WEBSITE SUCKS ASS AND SO DO ALL OF THESE LAME ARTICLES… Just lovely dear…

Here’s a little hint with much tenderness: If no one reads it how come not only you read it, but as well commented on it??? Food for thought huh?

Perhaps its time for you to do the real deal… if you don’t like it… just don’t read it.

MUAHHHH JS you seem like such a caring, tender boy. Perhaps I can find you in the little kiddie pool next time XO

  10. cat the great says:

haha JS - it’s “you’re” - put a comma after editor within the quotation marks, and a space between no and one. try an apostrophe in I’m, too. I guess UF did you no favours in the editing department, either.

  11. JS says:

Anyone who knows justin newman, knows how frantic and retarded he is. It’s nearly inpossible to even shift through this website. Every page has the same stupid articles and you all are only commenting on fellow “journalists” posts. Really its very silly and quite pathetic. I guess you could say the same to me for taking two minutes out of my day to write on here, but you all are making complete fools of yourselves thinking this “blog” is gunna get you ANYWHERE in life, in your social or economic standing. SORRY, you all sound like a bunch of fags. and the only reason this site even got any hits, is because yall r on it 24/7. If i know justin, hes sitting at his computer all day clicking on every page. TOTTLES! and bella, get a real job ya 40yr old cunt. no one has EVER heard of ya…

  12. Jennifer says:

JS, I’m surprised someone who thinks this site is so inadequate, so lacking in merit would not only visit it on May 14th and comment, but revist on May 17th to once again give your pearls of wisdom. It looks like the person who really needs a J-O-B is you…the person who hates everything about YPA but continues to frequent. You have much too much time on your hands.

  13. Alexis says:

Wow, “JS” You’re in the running for cousin of the year, eh? So is that what people do? Go around trying to knock their family members and their friends for trying to do something positive with their lives instead of sitting around and letting mommy and daddy pay for everything? Real cute. If you don’t like Justin and the site just stay off of it. Why do you feel the need to go out of your way to be so hurtful and mean for no reason at all? It’s completely unnecessary and childish. Let it go. Maybe you should get off the computer and get a job and leave the writing to the people who have a grasp of the english language. Tottles, whatever the hell that means.

  14. JBishop says:

Let me just point out a few things to you, b/c you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I did not go to UF, I did however go to school in NC, you might of heard of them … UNC and ECU? Well it happens to be two of the most notably schools in the country. I DO NOT comment on other people’s articles, but do research and write my own articles. Most of the articles I write in my free time b/c I have this thing called a job. Yes, a legitimate job, where I write full time for a lobbying firm in Philadelphia. So, check your facts sweetheart.

One other thing, do you truly think that facebook and twitter started off as huge successes? NO! It takes dedication, perserverance, and tweeking. I suppose those are things that you know NOTHING about though. So go… go sit on the beach, sucking the life and money out of mommy and daddy and being the stereotypical JAP that you are.

  15. John Stewart says:

Obviously none of you know the REAL justin newman. Not so nice a fella…enjoys bad mouthing EVERYONE he knows.

no megan here, but i like that you find me feminine

  16. JBishop says:

Look John Stewart (and I don’t think he would appreciate you using his name) if you have an issue with justin, that’s your problem. I don’t know why you think he’s “not a nice fella” but I honestly don’t care either.

    STOP POSTING ON MY ARTICLE.

It is unethical and you should be ashamed of yourself to slander people whom you know nothing about. If you have a problem with my writing then so be it, not everyone has to like it. Furthermore, as I stated before if you have a problem with Justin, do so in private. NO ONE wants to read your ranting nonsense anymore. It’s just old!

  17. admin says:

Whew..wow, so none of us here would have thought this would be the most discussed article.

Thanks “John Stewart” for taking the time to come visit YPA Press. If you’re interested, we’re all on twitter too, so feel free to come talk to us on there as well. As always we appreciate the comments from our readers, whether they’re smart, creative, and positive things. Or in this case one of the most insanely idiotic things we have ever heard.

Besides what’s the internet but a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to bitch and slander others anonymously without fear of backlash.

Thanks for taking the time to show us all a thing or two about common sense and good manners. We appreciate your support and look forward to many more comments from you in the future.
